Hello August 🌻
May this month bring you joy, strength, and healthy habits

Warm embrace & big hello luminous soul!!!
August is a month to reset, reframe, and rediscover ourselves . I know that you are going to be super busy this month, and I don’t want to add to your stress. Instead, I want to give you a tool on how to reset from overwhelm & stress. And who would I even be if I didn’t leave you some affirmations to use throughout this new month!
First, I want to start by saying thank you so much for being a part of the Petals of Being community! I am pouring my heart, love, and intention into it and your support means everything to me!
While craving support and community, there are many things that no one talks about when becoming a mother, (I can literally make a book just on that topic alone) and I have to say one of my top 5 is not being told the importance of having a solid support system. The phrase “It takes a village” is no lie - but it also is too simple to encapsulate the depth of how deeply crucial having a supportive community around you truly is. No doubt my circumstances would have had a different outcome; had I just taken the time to nurture those vines of connection.
That is the purpose of Petals of Being - to be that community & support system + be a safe space, and a sacred garden for you to turn too.

AI generated photo of a peaceful and warm garden where we all meet up, the kids are taken care of, and we have a ladies brunch-in with food & drink service and no one needs us to make a decision for 72 hours 🥰 also, there is naps. Manifesting it for us, babes!
Let’s dive into how to reset from overwhelm & stress, cause I know that we are all both of the above, lol. If your mind has been racing or your body feels like it's stuck in go-go-go mode… let’s take a moment together.
This simple breathing practice has been a gentle lifeline for me. It’s called the 5-7-8 breath, and it’s like a warm hug for your nervous system.
Here’s how it works:
/
Inhale gently for 5 seconds
Hold that breath for 7 seconds
Exhale slowly and completely for 8 seconds
Try repeating that cycle 3–5 times.
And here’s the magic of what it actually does for you:
Activates your parasympathetic nervous system
That long, slow exhale is a message to your body that you’re safe. It shifts you out of stress mode and into your “rest and restore” state.
Interrupts anxiety and overstimulation
Whether it’s toddler chaos, postpartum tension, or just too much noise in your head -this breath softens the edges and helps you come back to yourself.
Supports vagus nerve regulation
It gently tones the vagus nerve (the one connected to your heart, gut, and brain), which is key for emotional resilience, calm digestion, and even better sleep.
Builds emotional awareness
This breath brings you back into your body. It reconnects you with what you’re feeling, without judgment. Just presence.
💛 You deserve to feel safe in your body.
💛 You deserve softness.
💛 You don’t have to earn peace, you already are peace 💝
💛 You are infinite possibility 💫
🌷 Your gifts unfold naturally with perfect timing
🌷 Your talents multiply as you honor and use them 🌟
🌷 I am more than the roles I play for other people
